  11. I agree with the ODF team's position on windows compatibility. The ODF team
  12. has maintained that they are not going to pour a lot of resources into
  13. creating a hi-end graphics environment. Their current approach actually is
  14. not "least common denominator", but rather adds a feature sorely lacking on
  15. the Macintosh (line types), so I can hardly fault them if they only add the
  16. capabilities already built into Windows.

  18. We too have need for better line type definitions, and are currently
  19. writing our own rendering functions/classes to do so. If you are interested
  20. in collaborating with us, drop me a note. We also have need for rotated
  21. text, which by the way Windows has, but the Mac does not (unless one uses
  22. Quickdraw GX). This issue is a real problem for us as well since the
  23. current ODF implementation has complete graphic support for Windows &
  24. Quickdraw, but only incomplete support for GX. Any ideas for doing rotated
  25. text on the Mac is also very welcome.
